Outgoing Faster Payment - CAMT 029 - Response

A CAMT 029 message is used to respond to various types of Faster Payments messages. These are non-value messages.

Return Request Response

This type of CAMT 029 message will be used in reference to a CAMT 056 (Return Request) message.

  1. Navigate to Money Movement

  2. Click the Faster Payments tab

  3. Select Outgoing Faster Payment

  4. Click Create New Payment

  5. Enter the Bank Identification number for the Instructed Agent (typically a routing number)

  6. If a Pre-Authorized Template will be used, select from dropdown

  7. Select Business Function Code CAMT 029 - Return Request Response

  8. Select Type Code

    1. Will auto-fill as FDNA - Fednow

  9. To auto-fill information, select the Find Payment button to auto-fill the Original Transaction fields

    1. Find Payment tab defaults to Incoming

    2. Provide filtering information in the column headers to narrow results

    3. Click the radio button of the wire to return

    4. Click Apply Selected

  10. If manually entering a return request, complete the following fields for the Original Transaction

      1. IMAD

      2. Original Business Function Code

      3. Transaction ID

      4. Creditor Reference

      5. Sender Reference

      6. UETR - UETR of the original message to which the payment return message relates

      7. Created Date

      8. Time

      9. Original Effective Date

      10. Original Amount

  11. Click Next Step

  1. Enter the Instructed Agent Bank Identification (routing number)

    1. This information will be filled in automatically if the Find Payment option was used

  2. Click Next Step

  1. Select Return Response from dropdown

    1. IPAY - Return Request Accepted

    2. RJCR - Return Request Rejected

    3. PDCR - Return Request Pending

    4. PECR - Partially Executed Return Response

  2. Select Return Response Reason from dropdown

  3. Optional - Provide Additional Information

  4. Click Next Step

Once all sections have been completed, the User will review all payment detail. If any errors are detected at this time, the User may update the information from this screen or go back and navigate through all screens to make the correction(s).

After wire entry has been reviewed, click Create.

A second User will need to verify the message.

Request for Payment Cancellation Request Response

This type of CAMT 029 message will be used in reference to a CAMT 055 (Payment Cancellation Request) message.

  1. Navigate to Money Movement

  2. Click the Faster Payments tab

  3. Select Outgoing Faster Payment

  4. Click Create New Payment

  5. Enter the Bank Identification number for the Instructed Agent (typically a routing number)

  6. If a Pre-Authorized Template will be used, select from dropdown

  7. Select Business Function Code CAMT 029 - Request for Payment Cancellation Request Response

  8. Select Type Code

    1. Will auto-fill as FDNA - Fednow

  9. To auto-fill information, select the Find Payment button to auto-fill the Original Transaction fields

    1. Find Payment tab defaults to Incoming

    2. Provide filtering information in the column headers to narrow results

    3. Click the radio button of the wire to return

    4. Click Apply Selected

  10. If manually entering a return request, complete the following fields for the Original Transaction

      1. IMAD

      2. Original Business Function Code

      3. Transaction ID

      4. Creditor Reference

      5. Sender Reference

      6. UETR - UETR of the original message to which the payment return message relates

      7. Created Date

      8. Time

      9. Original Effective Date

      10. Original Amount

  11. Click Next Step

  1. Enter the Instructed Agent Bank Identification (routing number)

    1. This information will be filled in automatically if the Find Payment option was used

  2. Click Next Step

  1. Select Cancel Request Response from dropdown

    1. CNCL - Canceled as per Request

    2. RJCR - Cancellation Request Rejected

    3. PDCR - Cancellation Request Pending

  2. Select Cancel Request Response Reason from dropdown OR Select Cancel Request Response Reason Proprietary to enter custom reason

  3. Optional - Provide Cancel Request Response Additional Information

  4. Click Next Step

Information Request Response

This type of CAMT 029 message will be used in reference to a CAMT 028 (Information Request) message.

  1. Navigate to Money Movement

  2. Click the Faster Payments tab

  3. Select Outgoing Faster Payment

  4. Click Create New Payment

  5. Enter the Bank Identification number for the Instructed Agent (typically a routing number)

  6. If a Pre-Authorized Template will be used, select from dropdown

  7. Select Business Function Code CAMT 029 - Information Request Response

  8. Select Type Code

    1. Will auto-fill as FDNA - Fednow

  9. To auto-fill information, select the Find Payment button to auto-fill the Original Transaction fields

    1. Find Payment tab defaults to Incoming

    2. Provide filtering information in the column headers to narrow results

    3. Click the radio button of the wire to return

    4. Click Apply Selected

  10. If manually entering a return request, complete the following fields for the Original Transaction

      1. IMAD

      2. Original Business Function Code

      3. Case Identification number

  11. Click Next Step

  1. Enter the Instructed Agent Bank Identification (routing number)

    1. This information will be filled in automatically if the Find Payment option was used

  2. Click Next Step

  1. Select Information Request Response Status from dropdown

    1. INFO - Additional Information Sent

    2. NNF - No Further Information is Available

    3. IPAY - Payment Initiated

    4. IDUP - Instruction is a Duplicate

    5. PDNG - Information Request Pending

  2. If IDUP is chosen, additional fields will open

    1. Duplicate Original Transaction Identification (optional)

    2. Duplicate Original End to End Identification (optional)

    3. Duplicate Original UETR (optional)

  3. Click Next Step

Once all sections have been completed, the User will review all payment detail. If any errors are detected at this time, the User may update the information from this screen or go back and navigate through all screens to make the correction(s).
